Since its founding in 2007, the DGNB has been committed to a demonstrably sustainable and thus future-proof construction and real estate industry. In order to achieve this goal, an online platform was created with the DGNB Navigator, which lists building products with all relevant information on their sustainability qualities. In this way, it effectively brings together the information offered by manufacturers with the demand from planners - and thus creates an important bridge between building products and the DGNB certification system for buildings.
"THE DGNB NAVIGATOR MAKES IT EASIER FOR ARCHITECTS, PLANNERS AND OTHERS INVOLVED IN THE BUILDING PROCESS TO IDENTIFY SUSTAINABLE AND ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY PRODUCTS. THIS MAKES THE PLATFORM AN IMPORTANT STEP TOWARDS A RESPONSIBLE CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY."

Building products make a significant contribution to the sustainability of a building. In addition to environmental impacts such as pollutant emissions or energy consumption during production, life cycle costs and the effects on user comfort must also be taken into account in an overall view. The DGNB Navigator provides architects, planners, investors, tradesmen or auditors with all the data on a building product at the click of a mouse, enabling them to specifically improve the overall performance of the building. Since the DGNB Navigator also takes ISO standards into account and is available in English, it can be used worldwide.
"Transparently available information is essential for verifiable sustainability," says Lutz Enning, Sales Manager Construction Core West at Pfleiderer Deutschland GmbH. "The DGNB Navigator creates this transparency and thus offers an excellent service for planners and architects. As sustainability and customer service are top priorities for us in-house, the listing of our products is therefore outstanding in two respects."
