Raw particleboards also offer benefits for the environment. This is mainly apparent with regard to their sustainability aspects. Chipboards or particleboards are made from wood chips, wood by-products or other renewable raw materials. On request, they are PEFC or FSC® certified (licence code: FSC-C011773).
At Pfleiderer we also use materials made from re-used wood in our production. Thanks to innovative technologies and perfected recycling management, we are able to use these without lowering our quality or health standards for the materials. In this way, Pfleiderer ensures environmentally friendly, healthy and high-quality wood-based panels – first-class products, even in the second life cycle of the green raw material!
Raw particleboards, frequently also simply called chipboards or particleboards, are one of the most important panel materials made of wood. Instead of solid wood, they are made of wood chips, which are treated with binders and are pressed together to form panels or boards. It is hard to imagine modern building, as well as furniture making, without particleboards. Because they are easy to work, less expensive than solid wood, are produced from renewable raw materials and recycled waste wood and – at least at Pfleiderer – are only sourced from certified, sustainable forest management. They are suitable for many applications:
- furniture making and interior fixtures and finishes
- structural timber construction
- formwork construction
- roof and floor constructions
- packaging construction
- warehouse engineering
With our wide range of core materials, we ensure that the right product is available for all kinds of different requirements. Whether stable, particularly ecological or low emission, flame retardant, sound insulating, load-bearing or low swelling – our raw chipboards offer innovative solutions, on which you can rely!
