A high quality meeting cabin
An Experts project by BOSSE Design Gesellschaft für innovative Office interiors mbH & Co. KG

The bosselino uno is the result of an extremely ambitious goal. It represents a unique offering in the New Work furniture market that is precisely tailored to our customers’ needs and requirements. Another challenge for us was to reconcile Bosse’s high standards of quality and sustainability with these requirements

Pfleiderer in conversation with André Heuer and developer Thomas Wotschal
Pfleiderer: Mr. Heuer, how did the idea for the bosselino come about?
André Heuer: Room-in-room solutions are no longer entirely new. Here at Bosse, we developed and delivered our first cube for Bosch-Siemens Home Appliances back in 2002.
Fifteen years ago, drawing on Bosse’s nearly 40 years of experience, we developed new intelligent room-in-room solutions. These developments were based on the wishes and ideas of various major clients for precisely this product category..

Pfleiderer: But that wasn’t the birth of the bosselino uno, was it?
Thomas Wotschal: No, our first room-in-room series is the cube. It has now reached version 4.0 and offers extensive comfort features. As a true high-end product, it is available in over 50 sizes and configuration options, with comfort features such as an air quality sensor, a patented ventilation system, and the globally unique ION-CLOUD. A cube 4.0 truly has everything you need for fatigue-free and productive work in a pleasant atmosphere.
Pfleiderer: How does the cube 4.0 differ from the bosselino uno?
André Heuer: It starts with the distribution channel: The cube is typically planned by architects, specialty retail partners, or our own interior designers, and is delivered and installed by us. It is usually part of a design project in which the entire floor plan is created, for example, for office or administrative buildings, medical practices, retail spaces, or showrooms. These are generally large-scale projects that are planned at our factory. Last year, for example, we supplied the Berliner Sparkasse with 132 Cubes and installed them in Berlin within three weeks.
Pfleiderer: Can you outline how the bosselino uno differs from these?

André Heuer: We specifically developed the bosselino uno to fill a gap in the market within a price segment where there has been no significant competition in comparable quality to date. In addition to the large-scale projects we carry out with the system cube 4.0, there are also retrofits of existing office environments, such as in the context of repurposing or reducing floor space due to hybrid work models. This typically involves significantly less planning effort. For this reason, we placed great emphasis on simple and quick assembly for the bosselino uno.
Let me put it this way: Anyone with two healthy hands and a little bit of know-how can assemble the bosselino uno in 20 minutes. That’s why we also sell the bosselino uno directly through our dealer network and our online shop. To be competitive in this segment, it was clear that the bosselino uno could not exceed a price limit of 2,999 euros. That’s why it was a huge challenge to harmonize the proverbial Bosse quality and functionality with timeless design and unconditional sustainability— . We’ve succeeded in doing this impressively with the bosselino uno and have taken it a step further with the bosselino duo!
Pfleiderer: What special features does the bosselino uno offer?
Thomas Wotschal: First and foremost, Bosse’s commitment and experience! The bosselino uno is a 100% quality product from our company. That means high-quality materials, timeless design, and a smart layout are a given. In addition, the bosselino uno features active ventilation with two quiet fans, glare-free LED lighting, as well as USB-A and USB-C ports with 65-watt charging power. Furthermore, the bosselino uno comes standard with a storage compartment for tablets and smartphones for video conferences at eye level, and a table for laptops and notebooks that works perfectly with the to-swift standing aid.
Pfleiderer: Another unique selling point of the bosselino uno is its sustainability. Could you elaborate on that a bit more?
André Heuer: Certainly! Our products often accompany people for many years or even decades. For us, sustainability is therefore the foundation of quality, longevity, and responsible use of resources. This starts with the design and color selection, which remain timeless even after years. And even if a customer, for example, updates their corporate design, the panels on our modul space furniture can simply be swapped out—the steel frames usually last a lifetime.

But sustainability also extends to the material selection itself. It’s no coincidence that we rely on low-carbon aluminum, for example, which is produced in an environmentally friendly manner using water and wind power and generates 66% fewer CO2 emissions during the manufacturing process—and which we also source from our local region. For the same reason, we chose OrganicBoard from Pfleiderer for our wood-based materials: a high proportion of recycled wood, local sourcing, and biogenic glue with an excellent carbon footprint. And the acoustic panels we use are also made from 100% recycled PET.
Pfleiderer: Does that convince your customers?

Thomas Wotschal: Similar to the situation in the Netherlands, sustainability is becoming an increasingly relevant purchasing criterion for our customers in Germany. With the bosselino uno, we have succeeded in combining quality and functionality with timeless design and unconditional sustainability.
Together with our partner NatureOffice, we have transparently calculated our emissions, specifically reduced them, and offset all unavoidable emissions. In doing so, we support selected and certified climate protection projects that make a measurable contribution to climate protection.
André Heuer: That’s also one of the reasons why we’re currently exploring whether we can switch to OrganicBoard—either fully or partially—for other products. We’re still very much at the beginning of the process, but we’re highly interested—and our trusting business relationship with Pfleiderer allows us to engage in an open dialogue here. Let’s see where this journey takes us.
Pfleiderer: You just mentioned it: In addition to bosselino uno, there’s also bosselino duo. What sets it apart?
André Heuer: As the name suggests, the bosselino duo has double the floor space and is designed as a small meeting pod for two employees. It provides a space for confidential conversations, intensive teamwork, or creative thinking. In addition to three seating options, there is a large table and various USB-C charging options with 65 watts of charging power. This ensures that laptops or tablets can also be charged during the meeting. The bosselino duo is the ideal meeting pod for focused work—right in the middle of the office.
Pfleiderer: And in the future? Are there plans for additional variants of the bosselino?
André Heuer: As a next step, we’re offering our customers the opportunity to customize a bosselino to their specific preferences. As early as April and May, we’ll be adding a bosselino work and a bosselino quattro to our bosselino family. We’re currently working on this full steam ahead. – Stay tuned!
Pfleiderer: Thank you very much for the interview!
