The Shoppi Tivoli is a shopping centre of superlatives: Switzerland's largest shopping centre offers its guests an inspiring shopping experience with more than 160 stores on a sales area of over 80,000 m². Gastronomy and regular weekly and monthly promotions complete the attraction for the approximately 4.6 million annual visitors. It is one of the most valuable commercial properties in Switzerland.
Shoppi Tivoli was created in 2001 from the merger of the 2 shopping centre opened in 1970 - Shoppi - and in 1974 Tivoli. In 2022, a large number of modernisation and infrastructure works were carried out in and around the Shoppi Tivoli. Among other things, the public transport connection to the west of Zurich was significantly improved by the completion of the Limmattalbahn, a tramline between Zurich and Aargau. Currently, a pioneering residential project is being built in the immediate vicinity, the Tivoli Garden, with a total of 445 apartments that will have direct access to the shopping centre.
Also in 2022, the complete modernisation of the sanitary area of the Shoppi Tivoli and the smokers' lounge took place. In the process, hygiene and practicality requirements were ideally brought together with stylish aesthetics and modern hospitality. Interior fittings, wall cladding and fixed furniture were all created with Pfleiderer's Altamira Walnut dark wood finish in the Montana (MO) structure. Both melamine faced panel and bonded elements were used with an extremely hard-wearing Duropal HPL surface.
The new design emphasises the upscale ambition of the project with its generous room layout and formal language as well as high-quality materials and atmospheric lighting. At the same time, a high degree of functionality was ensured through partitioning systems and intelligent design: Baby-changing or family rooms, an area with make-up mirrors and a water feature in the centre of the circular washing area create an inviting atmosphere. At the same time, the equally robust and easy-care surfaces of the wood-based materials used ensure that the new sanitary facilities are easy to keep clean and remain permanently attractive.

The smokers' lounge was designed with the same attention to detail: Wall coverings in a dark wood coordinate perfectly with the floor scheme and the colourful seating furniture invites visitors to linger. At the same time, visitors to the lounge can relax and observe as shoppers pass through the shopping corridors between stores: The smokers' lounge is located in the Tivoli Gallery and has a bay of windows facing the interior of the shopping centre.
