Steel Matt: Honoured in the category Product Design - Materials and Surfaces

Steel Matt was honoured in the Product Design - Materials and Surfaces category. "Steel Matt lends an elegant appearance to a variety of coloured panels, allowing great scope for room planning. The finish is of a very high quality and the matt sheen is appealing," said the jury in its statement, which also emphasised that Steel Matt is visually and haptically comparable to a stainless steel alloy, but does not have the processing-related disadvantages.

Combination of two trends: metallic surfaces and matt materials

"We are delighted to receive this award," says Christiane Gebert, Head of Design & Development and responsible for surface innovation. "We offer our customers a wide choice in terms of form and function. With Steel Matt, we are combining two trends: metallic surfaces and matt materials. At the same time, we have put a lot of work into the structure. The fact that the result not only pleases us at Pfleiderer, but is also recognised by the jury of the Red Dot Award, confirms our work once again."

The brushed texture is authentic, delicate and very matt

Steel Matt has a very authentic look with its brushed texture. Filigree and very matt, the fine, sharp-edged cut is irregularly interrupted and the grooves are very narrow and steep. The sides and visible edges discreetly reflect the light and create an unobtrusive, elegant shimmer. The new composite structure is recommended for vertical applications. Steel Matt is available for a range of metal and plain decors. For example, for the Alux decors, where it emphasises the polish of the mother-of-pearl decors and makes them look like polished metal. "Steel Matt is versatile," says Christiane Gebert. "The texture also enhances plain decors, making it a perfect and now award-winning addition to our collection."
