Privacy Policy

We take data protection seriously

It is really important for us to ensure your privacy is protected during processing of personal data. When you visit our website, our web servers automatically store the IP details of your Internet service provider, the website from which you visit us, the pages you visit while on our site, and the date and duration of any visit. This information is essential to the transmission of websites (for technical reasons) and to ensure servers are operating securely. This data does not undergo any personalised evaluation.

Any data you send us via contact forms is stored on our servers during backups. We only ever use your data to process your request. Your data is treated as strictly confidential. No data is forwarded to third parties.

Personal data

Personal data is data about you as a person. This includes your name, your address, and your email address. You do not need to give any personal data in order to visit our website. In some cases, we do need your name and address as well as other information in order to offer you the service you require.

The same applies when you want us to provide you with information and when we respond to your requests. We always point this out to you in such cases. Also, we only store data you have passed on to us automatically or voluntarily.

When you use one of our services, we only generally gather the data we need in order to offer you our service. We may ask you for additional information, but only on a voluntary basis. We only ever process personal data in order to offer you our service or to help us pursue our commercial objectives.

Non-personal data stored automatically

When you visit our websites, we store certain information for administrative and technical reasons. This information relates to the type and version of the browser used, the date and time of access, and the IP address.

This data is anonymised and only used for statistical purposes or in order to improve our Internet and online services.

This anonymised data – which is kept separate from any personal data – is stored on secure systems and cannot be linked to any individual persons. This means your personal data is protected at all times.

Cookies

When you visit our websites, we may store information on your computer in the form of cookies. Cookies are small files transmitted from an Internet server to your browser and stored on your hard drive. Art. 6 para. 1f of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) sets out the legal basis for the use of cookies.

The only thing stored here is the Internet Protocol address – no other personal data is stored. This information stored in cookies ensures you are automatically recognised the next time you visit our website, which makes it easier for you to use the site.

Of course, you may also visit our websites without accepting cookies. If you do not want your computer to be recognised the next time you visit, you can also block the use of cookies by changing your browser settings to 'Block cookies'. The user guide for your browser will show you what you need to do. If you block the use of cookies, however, the use of some aspects of our websites may be subject to restrictions.

Google Tag Manager

This website uses Google Tag Manager. Tag Manager does not record any personal data. The tool activates other tags, which themselves record data in some cases. Google Tag Manager does not access this data. If deactivation has been performed at domain or cookie level, this will apply to all tracking tags implemented with Google Tag Manager. Please click the following link to see Google's data protection provisions in relation to this tool: https://www.google.de/tagmanager/use-policy.html

Google Analytics with anonymisation function

On our site, we use a web analysis service known as Google Analytics. This is provided by Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043 USA – referred to hereafter as 'Google'. Google Analytics uses so-called 'cookies'. These text files are stored on your computer and enable analysis of your website use.
The information generated by these cookies, such as the time, location, and frequency of your website visits including your IP address, is forwarded to Google in the USA and stored there.
We use Google Analytics on our website in conjunction with the '_gat._anonymizeIp' extension. This enables Google to shorten and therefore anonymise your IP address within member states of the European Union or other states which are party to the Agreement on the European Economic Area.
Google will use this information to evaluate your use of our site, compile reports for us on website activity, and provide other services related to website and Internet use. Google may also forward this information to third parties when required to do so by law or when third parties are used to process this data on Google's behalf.
Google itself states it will never link your IP address to other data it may hold. You can prevent installation of cookies by making the appropriate setting through your browser software; we would point out, however, that this may mean you cannot enjoy full use of all the functions of our website.
In addition, Google offers a deactivation add-on for the most common browsers, which gives you greater control over which data Google records regarding the websites you access. The add-on informs the JavaScript (ga.js) used by Google Analytics that no information regarding the website visit should be forwarded to Google Analytics. However, the browser deactivation add-on from Google Analytics does not stop information being forwarded to us or to other web analysis services we may use. Click the following link for more information on installing the browser add-on: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de

If you visit our site via a mobile end device (smartphone or tablet), you need to click this link instead in order to prevent Google Analytics tracking activity on this website in future. This is also a possible alternative to the browser add-on referred to above. Clicking the link installs an opt-out cookie in your browser which only applies to this browser and this domain. If you delete cookies in this browser, the opt-out cookie will also be deleted, which means you will need to click the link again.

If you have agreed to Google linking your web and app browser history to your Google account and to information from your Google account being used to personalise advertisements, Google will use your data, together with Google Analytics data, to create target group lists for cross-device remarketing purposes. In order to do this, Google Analytics first of all records – on our website – your Google-authenticated ID details, which are linked to your Google account (i.e. personal data). Then Google Analytics temporarily links your ID details to your Google Analytics data in order to optimise our target groups.

If you do not agree, you can deactivate the process involved by making the relevant settings in the 'My Account' area of your Google account.

Google DoubleClick

DoubleClick by Google is a service provided by Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA ('Google'). DoubleClick by Google uses cookies in order to show you advertisements you may find interesting. A pseudonymised identification number (ID) is assigned to your browser in order to ascertain which advertisements have been shown in your browser and which advertisements have been accessed. The cookies do not contain any personal information. The use of DoubleClick cookies only enables Google and its partner websites to activate advertisements on the basis of previous visits to our websites or other sites on the Internet. The information generated by the cookies is transmitted by Google, for evaluation purposes, to a server in the USA and stored there. Google observes the data protection provisions of the 'Privacy Shield' framework and is registered with the 'Privacy Shield' programme associated with the US Department of Commerce. Google only ever forwards data to third parties in accordance with the relevant statutory provisions or in connection with a data processing mandate. Google will never merge your data with other data it records.
By using our websites, you effectively agree to Google processing data gathered about you, to the type and method of data processing described above, and to the purpose stated. You can prevent storage of cookies by making the appropriate setting through your browser software; we would point out, however, that this may mean you cannot enjoy full use of all the functions of our websites. You may also prevent the recording at Google of the data generated by cookies – relating to your use of the websites – and any processing of this data by Google by clicking the following link and downloading and installing the browser plug-in in the DoubleClick Deactivation Extension section. Alternatively, you may also deactivate DoubleClick cookies with this opt-out.

YouTube in enhanced data protection mode

We use the service provider known as YouTube to integrate video content. Any videos used have been embedded in enhanced data protection mode. Like most websites, however, YouTube also uses cookies to gather information about visitors to its website. Among other things, YouTube uses this information to record video statistics, prevent fraud, and make its service more user-friendly. This too involves a connection with the Google DoubleClick network. When you start a video, this may trigger additional data processing activity. We have no influence over this. For more information about data protection at YouTube, please click the following link to access its data protection statement: http://www.youtube.com/t/privacy_at_youtube

Client account
For every client who registers, we set up password-protected direct access to their data stored with us (client account). Here you can view data relating to your completed, outstanding, and recently despatched orders and manage your address data, bank details, and the newsletter. You undertake to treat your personal access data as confidential and not to make it available to any unauthorised third parties. We cannot accept liability for improper use of passwords, unless we were responsible for the improper use concerned.
With the 'Remember Me' function, we aim to make visiting our websites as hassle-free as possible. This function allows you to use our services without having to log on again each time. You will sometimes, however, be prompted to enter your password again for security reasons, such as when your personal data needs to be changed or you want to place an order. We recommend you do not use this function if the computer is used by several users. Please note that the 'Remember Me' function will not be available if you use a setting which automatically deletes stored cookies after each session.

Security

We have taken technical and administrative security precautions to protect your personal data against loss, destruction, manipulation, and unauthorised access. All our employees and all the service providers we use are subject to the applicable data protection legislation.

Whenever we gather and process personal data, this is encrypted before being forwarded. This means your data cannot be misused by third parties. We are always looking to improve our security precautions and are constantly revising our data protection statements. Please make sure you have the latest version.

Rights of those concerned

Please contact us at any time if you would like to know what personal data we store about you or if wish to have this corrected or deleted. You also have a right to restrict processing (Art. 18 of the GDPR), a right to object to processing (Art. 21 of the GDPR), and a right to data portability (Art. 20 of the GDPR).

Please contact us directly in any such cases.
