Carbon Disclosure Project
The Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) is an initiative launched by institutional financial investors with the intention of creating transparency on companies’ CO2 emissions. The CDP is supported worldwide by more than 500 companies in the financial sector with total assets of more than 60 trillion US dollars. Each year, the non-profit organization invites international companies to fill out a comprehensive questionnaire disclosing their CO2 emissions and strategies for climate change.
On the basis of the details disclosed by the companies, the CDP has developed the world’s biggest freely available database on corporate CO2 emissions. The replies released by the companies can be accessed by all interested parties on the organization’s website. The supporting investors have access to all replies. This is intended to enable them to include in their investment decisions the various effects of climate change on companies such as price risks for certificates, direct weather risks, rising energy prices etc.
Pfleiderer AG has participated in these annual surveys since 2007. We aim to make our replies to the questions increasingly precise and thus to ensure a high degree of transparency, except in cases where that would impair our competitiveness. More information on the CDP and the information provided by the participating companies is available on the internet at www.cdproject.net.
