Eastern Europe
In the Business Center Eastern Europe Pfleiderer Group comprises four plants in Poland and one in Russia employing a total of approximately 1,600 people. This division is organized into four independently operating Business Units (BU), headed by the listed Pfleiderer Grajewo S.A.:
- Poland Panels BU / Grajewo, Wieruszów
- Russia Panels BU / Novgorod
- Silekol BU / glue manufacturer / Kędzierzyn-Koźle
- Poland MDF BU / MDF/HDF production / Grajewo
Particleboard and a variety of surface finishes in matching colors and product lines are produced mainly for the furniture industry and interior design in Eastern Europe at the two Polish locations, Grajewo and Wieruszów. In addition, production began in the new MDF plant in Grajewo in July 2007. The integration of the glue manufacturer Silekol in Kędzierzyn-Koźle in 2006 was vital to the expansion of our value chain in Eastern Europe.
We took our first step into Russia in 2006 by building a new particleboard plant in Novgorod. The proximity to the St. Petersburg and Moscow metropolitan areas means that we can service the strong demand from the Russian furniture industry excellently from Novgorod.
In addition to the existing particleboard plant a new technologically leading plant for the production of Medium-Density and High-Density Fibreboards (MDF/HDF) with an annual output of up to 500,000 cubic meters will go into operation. As a result of this investment, the Pfleiderer Group will be able to fully utilize synergy potential with its existing plants in Eastern Europe.
